Mixing Service

Precision and experience from hundreds of mixes. Every track is carefully processed to ensure it remains true to its genre and sounds competitive in today’s music industry.

About Me

My name is Janne Korpela, and I am a professional mixing engineer. I graduated from Tampere University of Applied Sciences in 2016 with a degree in digital audio and commercial music. Since then, I have been working full-time in the industry as an independent mixing engineer.

With experience from mixing hundreds of tracks, I have developed a deep understanding of what makes a recording sound competitive. I mix all genres, from pop to metal to electronic music.

Mixing Your Track

You are probably here because you are looking for a mixing engineer for your project. Mixing is the most crucial part of music production, as it has the biggest impact on the final sound of your track. That’s why it’s worth investing in.

I handle your mix with care and ensure that it competes with other artists in your genre. I also make sure your track has the power and clarity it needs to stand out, while maintaining natural dynamics and punch. This way, your music will sound its best on streaming platforms and playlists.

For me, mixing is not just a job; it’s a way of life and a true passion. I treat every project individually and always give it my best effort. My approach to mixing is custom-tailored to your song—no assembly line processing.

My Workflow

I use both digital and analog tools in my mixing process. While I primarily mix “in the box” (fully digital), I also use real guitar and bass amplifiers when needed. In many cases, I re-amp guitars and bass based on recorded DI tracks to match the genre and sonic character of the music.

I create the first mix draft based on your reference tracks and instructions. After that, you can provide feedback and suggest adjustments to refine the final sound. I strongly believe that the best results come from collaboration between the artist and the mixing engineer. The final touch is provided by an external mastering engineer, and I can deliver the final mix directly to your chosen mastering studio.

Each mix includes up to three rounds of revisions after the general sound has been agreed upon. You can find detailed instructions on how to provide effective mix feedback here.

Before Mixing

Before I can start working on your track, I need to hear a rough mix of your recorded tracks. This helps ensure that all stems are properly prepared and that the final mix will be as good as possible.

Great performances and quality recordings play a huge role in achieving a high-end sound. If you have any questions about track preparation, I am happy to help.

Track Finalization

The most important goal during recording is to capture the best possible performance. However, sometimes recorded tracks still need a bit of tightening to compete with the top artists in your genre. If needed, I can take care of editing and finalizing the tracks for you. I can fine-tune vocals and tighten drum timing when necessary.

I always aim for natural-sounding edits that enhance the performance without making it feel artificial. Please note that extensive editing is not included in the standard mixing price and must be agreed upon separately.
